In the Argentine city of Bahía Blanca, over 400 millimeters (15.7 inches) of rain fell within a few hours, amounting to one-third of the average annual rainfall. At least 16 fatalities have been confirmed, and this number is expected to increase, with more than 1,000 residents forced to evacuate their homes. The resulting flooding has led to the destruction of bridges and the collapse of roads, severely hampering access, while large areas of the city have been left without electricity. Bahía Blanca, home to over 330,000 people, serves as a significant port in the southwestern region of Buenos Aires province.
